first of all, I would like to thank all those who have donated, as it's kinda motivating to work like this :) Also, thanks for encouraging emails...
Project current status needs also some clarity: As I'm redistributing GPL components inside the PMS package (Mplayer, Mencoder, etc.), my project has by definition GPL license too. So I've uploaded the sources on this newly created code.google.com project (OSX version, anyone ? :p), along with a google group dedicated to PMS. So if you have any questions, requests, issues, you can try there.
Now, about 1.00 version. It's a good step as I think the product somewhat stable (I'm using it since 2 months now). Small update anyway, and there's still some issues though, mostly about network, synched A/V, and video compatibility. I hope these will be solved with time. Also, the auto update feature will come one day, but meantime, from now on, I'll try to support existing PMS.conf files to make you avoid reconfigure settings for each new version. Some other features are on their way (parsing cache, start as a windows service), but not stable enough to include them in this release.

I think you might have made a mistake in making the archives... The Windows archive has no exe file in it.
Your antivirus software must have deleted it. Don't know why, but some softwares doesn't like the executable
Yup, that was the problem, my antivirus says it contains Adware/Cinmus.
Thanks for your great work. The only thing not working for me is that the channels are messed up with DTS=>LPCM, apart from thatn it's perfect! Even some WMA Pro files are working fine now.

Merci d'avoir pris du temps pour mon probleme de decallage son, ça marche impec maintenant. Sinon j'ai remarqué un bug qui est apparue dans cette version : lorsqu'on regarde une video avec Avisynth/Mencoder et qu'on l'arrete avec (o) puis qu'on la relance, le son se decalle un tout petit peu.
Sinon l'interface est plus aboutie, c'est vraiment du bon travail et ça merite un don (surtout que toutes les semaines je te demande un truc!)!

J'écrit pour vous donner un peu de feedback a propos d'une demande faite sur se se blog a propos de votre logiciel. J'avais demandé une comptabilité pour les fichier .OGM et ca fonctionne très bien.
Mais il semble que j'ai un problème. Je ne peu pas écouté plus d'un épisode sans que le logiciel plante. Je termine un épisode, j'en part un autre et après 15 secondes, j'ai un message "network error" sur le PS3. A ce moment, je vais sur mon ordi et le logiciel semble s'être fermé sans message d'erreur. J'utilise avisynth+ffmpeg pour décoder parce qu'il y a (avait?) un petit décalage quand j'utilise Mencoder.
Peut être que c'est un problème avec mes codecs? J'ai remarquer que quand j'écoute un vidéo sur l'ordi avec Media player classic, les codec que j'utilise pour lire le vidéo s'ouvre et s'affiche normalement dans ma bar de démarrage. Une fois le video terminé/lecteur fermé, les icones restent affiché jusqu'au moment ou je passe mon curseur par-dessus, a ce moment la l'icone disparait. C'est un symptôme (je croit) d'un logiciel qui plante/qui se ferme incorrectement. Pour en revenir a PMS.exe, après que le logiciel plante parce que j'essai d'ouvrir un deuxieme épisode, quand je revien a mon ordi, j'ai ma bar de demarrage completement pleine d'icone de codecs. Comme si les codecs avait ouvert/planter a plusieurs reprises avant de fonctionner que pour un épisode. Je me demandait s'il y avait quelqu'un qui a déjà rencontré le problème, si c'était la raison pourquoi je ne peux pas écouter plus d'un épisode.
Je ne veux pas être chiant avec mes questions, mes connaissance en codec sont très limités. Si tu veux, laisse moi ton adresse email et je t'enverrais toute l'info que tu a besoin... Merci!!!!!!

I still really love the software.. Small bug though.. VIDEO_TS folders converted with mencoder seem to be running at 1.5x - maybe a little less. Noticeable though. Anything I can do to fix that?

Je viens de découvrir ce soft qui est une merveille !
A coté de tout ce qui existe aujourd'hui c'est le top ;-)
Voici 2 petites remarques :
- Sous Vista, le fond des images n'est pas transparent, le niveau de gris est différent. Sur les screens de l'aide (sous linux ?) je ne le vois pas.
- Est-il possible de lire un mkv avec un .srt associé (même nom) qui contient déja des sous titres (langues différentes) ?

Just a suggestion, I wonder if it's possible to add in your future versions options to change the video encoding codec and options for example, I would like to try how it goes with VC-1 transcoding for example like Tversity.
Even though I like your program a lot already how it is, it addresses the most important faults the other media server had.

Après être passé par Nero média home, TVersity, j'ai découvert hier PMS... ton logiciel est ENORME !.
Ca tombe tout seul, pas besoin de s'arracher les cheveux dans le paramétrage ; ça marche avec les vidéo HD, ça lit les .mkv, ça fait du son 5.1 !
On se demande pourquoi les autres sont si mauvais.
Le son decal sur tout mais dvd en format .iso
Vous avez une solution ?
@Oncle Waldo: Moi je croit que les autres logiciel (TVersity, Nero, etc..) non pas été spécialement conçu pour la PS3, mais pour accomoder plusieurs type de hardware.
@Pascal: Tu a essayer de décocher la case "AV sync correction" ? Va voir le FAQ. Pour moi ca fonctionner. Mais pour moi c'etait avec des MKV. Tu a essayer d'utiliser d'autre type de transcodage, ou tu a seulement essayer Mencoder?

ps3media est il compatible avec un autre periph dlna ( tv pioneer) , doit on intervenir sur la config du log , j'ai essayé avec ma tv et apres plusieurs tentatives ma tv voit bien le serveur mais le log ne reconnait pas ma tv ? config ip ? je suis branche en direct sur ma tv , y a til un ordre a respecter , lancer le serveur puis allumer la tv ?
Looking for months for a program who can encode .mkv. And to my surprise it even encode's .iso. Many thanks for the program a donation is coming your way. But first i watch one movie .mkv to see if it really works :-).
A suggestion once you have everything working as best as it can and that is to have a sleeker interface as the one now seems a bit basic. Other than that, FANTASTIC work and I look forward to seeing more updates in the future.

1. Sur Linux ubuntu 8.10 avec la machine java par défaut :

Pb d'affichage, on ne voit pas tous les champs. Pas moyen de retailler la fenêtre, ni de mettre en plein écran et il n'y a pas d'ascenseur.
2. Sur un mkv avec sous titres, j'ai remarqué que les sous titres s'affichent un poil trop bas. Les lettres "g" "j" "p" "q" sont légèrement coupées.
3. Sur un dvd avec des bandes noires au dessus/dessous, les sous titre s'affichent sur l'images, n'utilisent pas les bandes noires.
J'ai pas testé la 1.01...

bonjour, depuis aujourd'hui j'ai découvert ps3 media server, et je dis un grand bravo. Merci pour le travail.
Mon problème est que j'ai pu installer la version 0.99 pour windows, mais impossible avec la v 1.00, un message diagnostique s'affiche "Can not open file 'C:\Documents......\pms-win32-1.00(1).exe' as archive
même en désactivant l'antivirus c'est toujours pareil.

It's very good program, better than Tversity. I had some bugs and crashes but i am on x64 vista.
One time, soft has crashed and closed. And i have Matrix Trilogy in bluray which don't work. Others bluray works perfectly, mkv too, avi too. It's perfect.
Subtitles from bluray or dvd supported ? I test one time with dvd iso and i cannot delete subtitles and from bluray i cannot have subtitles.
Will you prepare a new version soon ?

Hey just wanted to let you know how good your program is and how grateful I am as I've been struggling with TVersity issues for a while now and you're program has finally made streaming files to my PS3 as easy as it should be! Please keep up the good work and if you can, xbox 360 support would be nice too :D

Ce qui est bizarre, c'est que l'IP de ma PS3 est 192.168.0.8.
Si j'essai de forcer l'IP dans le logiciel, celui-ci plante...
Mes 2 pcs ont la meme config niveau reseau.
