The new version (0.97) is now ready to be released ! I've added some interesting features, such as a graphical interface to configure the application (no more file to edit!), the ability to remux without transcode in real time for those running on Windows, thanks to tsMuxer, and some little other things. I've hopefully solved this annonying upnp advertising bug, which was preventing some people to make the server work on ps3.

Here is the complete changelog:
- Added: GUI Configuration / Transcoding options, encoding presets, etc.
- Added: Ability to choose the default transcoding engine (mencoder only, avisynth+mencoder, avisynth+ffmpeg, tsmuxer, or none)
- Added: tsMuxer as a real time muxer (experimental)
- Added: A good audio tag reader library (http://entagged.sourceforge.net/)
- Fixed: Bugs in UPNP advertising. PS3 should see the server now (if not, please send the debug.log file in the application folder to ps3mediaserver at gmail.com)
- Fixed: Mencoder font cache bug which prevents transcode to start
- Fixed: DLNA errors due to character encoding
- Fixed: New folders were not refreshed automatically
- Fixed: (maybe) Network streaming performance issue (need feedback on this)
I will try to add in the future, the possibility to serve lossless audio for those DTS based movies the ps3 does not support as a streaming client (not as easy as it seems :\). Ultimately, evolve this application in a blu ray movies streamer would be great but maybe I dream too much :p

C'est bon j'ai résolu mes deux problemes:
-je n'avais pas installé vsfilter
-pb de firewall
Sinon, avec tversity j'utilisais ffdshow et je rajoutais des bandes noires autour de mes videos pour compenser l'overscan de ma tv. Avec ton soft je peut utiliser coreavc mais il n'y a plus cette fonction, serait-il possible de la mettre dans ton soft avec avisynth?
arg!!! Je lance mes serveurs uniquement depuis la ligne de commande (pas de X lancé sur linux)...
n'est-il pas possible d'autoriser un lancement sans GUI ?

J'ai moi aussi ce problème d erreur réseau 80710091 , même en éteignant mon firewall , du coup la vidéo ne se charge pas du tout et PS3 media Server finit par planté .
Peut tu m'aider a trouver la solution a ce probléme
envoies moi le debug.log, présent dans le répertoire: ps3mediaserver a gmail.com
Bravo à toi pour ce soft , le meilleur que j ai pu tester pour la connection entre le PC et la PS3.

Your application is wonderful...thank you so much for it. It is simple and works great.
My main request is if you could make it ignore hidden files. Whenever Apple Macs connect to my media server, they create ._file-name files but make them hidden, so I so them always on my PS3. Tversity also has this problem, but they seem unwilling to fix it.
Also, is there a limit to the buffer size? I try and raise my transcode buffer very high around 4,000 MB or even 1,000 MB and it just crashes the program. Is this a Java limit?
Again, wonderful program. I would certainly donate.

Right now you can't set more than 400Mb. But a new version is about to come, where I've fixed a limit of 650Mb (Java can't go too far without issues).
Also, hidden files are now hidden :)

The program work greet for me except one problem
the srt (Arabic) subtitle files is shown with weird characters I don’t now if its from the PS3 or your program
by the way is the IDX subtitle file supported?
@turki9: if you are using mencoder only, try to remove the "-cp1252" option on the subtitles configuration textbox, or try another codepage (I don't know the one for arabic language)
Also, the .sub/.idx should be supported, but I haven't really tested it :p
Great program. One question. I have installed it on my server running SBS 2003 and I having problems with the transcoding of the MKV format stuttering. Running dual Intel Xeon 2.4 GHz with one Gig of RAM. Any suggestions
